Healthcare for the vulnerable
Total employees are contributing to a number of projects and associations working to help the most vulnerable members of society, especially in the field of healthcare.
- The Main Dans la Main et Solidaires association and Necker Hospital’s sick children -
The creative handiwork project for children in Necker Hospital’s stomach surgery unit is organized by the Main Dans la Main et Solidaires association. The aim of the project is to offer sick children the chance to participate in a range of creative and manual activities on the weekend, designed to encourage them to think about the outside world, to exert an active effect on their environment and to develop some positive memories of their hospital stay.
- The APHOM association creates a training initiative for social workers in Gabon -
The association’s Synergies for Children project offers a training initiative within the local APHOM (association for handicapped persons in the province of Ogoué Maritime, Gabon) involving the manufacture of small items using resources available locally. The project also provides training for social workers dealing with handicapped children.
- Campaign to send emergency supplies to the Ukraine -
Clothes, toys and educational materials have been sent to the Ukraine as part of the Campaign for Lutsk, organized by the AES association in Alsace. Total is funding the transport of materials, the purchase of inflatable beds for the transport of accident victims, mobile cardioscopes and minor supplies for the dispensaries where volunteer doctors are working. Alsace’s AES association is also supporting the creation of a reintegration center for young adults in difficulty.
