Operating under the aegis of the Fondation de France, the Télémaque Foundation works to promote the education of pupils in priority education zones (ZEP). These talented, highly motivated pupils often come from poor or disadvantaged backgrounds. Selected by the foundation, they are awarded a scholarship and a double educational package comprising a school education and an enterprise tutor. The second part of the package is offered on a voluntary basis by the employees and businesses that are members of the foundation. Both parts of the program have the same objective: to broaden the selected pupils’ horizons and guide them in the personal and professional choices they make in their pursuit of a career.

Our company makes both financial and human contributions to promoting equal opportunities. Some 15 Total employees have already offered their services as tutors in the Paris region. Total aims to fund 20 scholarships in 2007-2008, with an overall investment of 46,000 euros.
