As a partner of the Fonds d’expérimentation pour la jeunesse (FEJ), the national development fund for youth , the Total Foundation funds innovative actions for success in school and the professional integration of young people.

10 000 driver’s licenses to succeed

This appeal for projects concerned initiatives that helped young people pass their driving license in order to have better chances of finding a job. Mobility is often essential for finding a job or for going on courses and training. The Total Foundation devoted 7 million Euros to these actions.

Promoting equal opportunity and fighting discrimination

A second call for projects aimed to back projects to fight against discrimination in the education and business worlds. The Total Foundation also funded projects that help youth access healthcare services. The Total Foundation provided 1.9 million Euros for these programs.

Diversifying academic and vocational choices for young girls

The third call for projects focused on accompanying young girls to help them choose a training program or career. To accomplish this, these girls are presented with all the possible options, even those positions that are traditionally occupied by men. These projects also focus on opening other cultural horizons . The Total Foundation provided 1.5 million Euros for these actions.

Empowering youth to achieve independence through artistic and cultural practices

The actions targeted by this appeal for projects are designed to promote artistic and cultural practices for youth who do no not usually have access to them. By developing their independence and encouraging these young people to express themselves, these activities help build up confidence and help the youth integrate on the job market. Total Foundation has provided 865 000 euros to fund these projects is.

Securing entrance on the job market for youth having been on vocational courses (‘N-1/N+1’ request for projects)

This call for projects concerns three school districts (Amiens, Lille and Lyon) and six vocational schools. These actions are designed to accompany young people as they enter the world of work, from their final year of school until the year following their graduation (interviews with professionals, job fairs, etc.). 100 000 Euros are provided by the Total Foundation for these programs.

Encouraging enterprise

The programs selected during this call for projects are designed to introduce students to the realities of economics and to the business world. For instance, some high school students learn how to set up a business and how to manage it. The Total Foundation is contributing 338 000 Euros to these projects which aim to develop the independence of young people and their sense of responsibility.

Preventing and combating harassment at school

This call for projects is dedicated to actions contributing to reducing harassment at school. For example, some of these initiatives offer to train the school staff and provide information on this problem via films, conferences, exhibitions, etc. The Total Foundation contributes 500 000 Euros to these programs.
